L'Ambrée d'Esquelbecq - 5.8% alc/vol View Label 6 Kb
Comments - First brewed 1997.
Tasting Notes - Strongly malty beer. Not as complex as it could be but has an impressively malty character with an
interesting hop element and quite a strong spiciness. KR: Tannic and very bitter - thankfully with quenching qualities.
Bénache - 5.8% alc/vol
Comments - Distributed by Rural museum at Steenwerck
La Bière des Tambours Majors - 5.8% alc/vol
Tasting Notes - A good rousse without the typical very strong rousse bite. Good balance and texture add to the satisfying
nature of the beer.
Bière du Tricentaire
Comments - For the 300th anniversary of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Dunkerque.
Special glass also available.
Blonde d'Esquelbecq - 6.5% alc/vol
View Label 15 Kb
Comments - First brewed 1997.
Tasting Notes - Excellently refreshing and satisfying beer with good clean tastes. The citric quenching qualities make it
superb on a hot summers day. It is very far removed from the general clutch of French beers.
Brassin de la St-Jean - 6.3% alc/vol
Comments - Organic beer
Cruchon - 5.8% alc/vol
L'Esquelbécoise - 5.6% alc/vol
L'Estam' Bier - 6.2% alc/vol View
Label 6 Kb
Comments - First brewed 1997. Brewed for L'estaminet Flamand in Dunkerque.
Tasting Notes - Very Rousse in character with both the hop and malt playing strong roles.
Fête des Fraises - 5.8% alc/vol
Comments - For the strawberry fair at Verlinghem (north of Lille).
Les Frères de la Bière - 4.5% alc/vol
La Miaule - 6.2% alc/vol
Comments - Brewed for the Marie de Gravelines and UNICOM (association of
commerçants).
La Noël d'Esquelbecq - 5.8% alc/vol
Comments - First brewed 1997
Tasting Notes - It is great to get a spiced beer from France but unfortunately the spices are somewhat overdone and
overpower rather than complement and enhance the other elements to the extent that it becomes a bit boring after a while. However, it
is still a very interesting beer that has a certain appeal especially the impressive aroma, the wonderful creamy texture and unusual
spritzy character.
Patate Feest Bier - 5.6% alc/vol
Comments - For the Patate Feest that takes place every year in Esquelbecq on last weekend in
August.
La Rouge Flamande - 5.8% alc/vol
Comments - Brewed for la Foire des Rameaux de Bergues held on 28/3/99.
