Comments - First brewed 1997. General lighter and fresher than the Brunehaut
Tasting Notes - JW: Excellent, fairly complex, light herbal tasting beer wth plenty of juniper character. A very
pleasant taste although the lingering bitterness in the finish gets a bit much eventually. KR: Beautiful, very satisfying beer
with great depth and yet light and refreshing enough to drink year round. Thankfully the juniper is not overdone, but the taste

Comments - Brewed and bottled for the 3 Firkin pubs in Paris.
L'Ecume des Jours - 7% alc/vol
Comments - First brewed in 1994, by Brasserie Brunehaut in Belgium and this version
is still widely available in France but the 33cl bottles are corked and have the label writing in gold rather than silver.
Tasting Notes - A powerfully hoppy beer with plenty of lemon throughout though the finish particularly becomes
very resiny with some fruit - almost tangy.

Germinal Ambrée - 6.5% alc/vol
Tasting Notes - The disappointing nose leads into a very distinctive beer which is very tangy and resiny with a
moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is particularly smooth and full. KR: Impressively full and fruitily bitter beer with a
somewhat harsh resin note.
Germinal Ambrée de la St-Sylvestre - 8% alc/vol
Comments - Also relabelled as Bière de Noël for Carrefour
Germinal Bière au Froment - 8% alc/vol
Tasting Notes - Very wheaty beer that is surprisingly fragrant with a gentle spiciness. Finish gets very dry with a
wheaty tanginess.
Germinal Bière de Mars - 6% alc/vol
Comments - First brewed 1999.
Germinal Blanche de Noël - 8% alc/vol
Comments - Also relabelled as Bière de Noël for Carrefour
Germinal Blonde - 6.5% alc/vol
Comments - First brewed 1997.
Tasting Notes - A full tasting malt produces plenty of sweetness but the high level of resinous hop takes over
producing a beer that is very tangy but only gently bitter.

Comments - First brewed 2001. Available from Douai tourist office.
